SECURE YOUR MOBILE WITH SEPERATE IMSI AND MSISDN
We protect your identity to optimise your security
Your mobile security depends on two key identifiers – the IMSI and the MSISDN. If you can control how these are exposed, you can enter an entirely new world of secure mobile connectivity.
That’s what we do. Our mobile data services are based on a complete, eSIM solution that supports multiple public identities for our users, while safeguarding this vital information and protecting you from threats.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR MOBILE DEVICES AND DATA
IMSI, MSISDN, Identity. What it means and why it matters.
We protect your identity to guard against rogue actors
When a mobile phone is activated, it must connect to a network, because it needs to access base stations so that the device can obtain connectivity. Only devices that have the right credentials can do this. Authentication is a complex process, but it happens very quickly, so that your phone can be registered and used by you for accessing the services for which you have paid.
Two essential identifiers are required as part of this process: the IMSI and the MSISDN. If these are fixed, then there’s a greater risk that your identity can be discovered, and your location resolved.
Trustmobile separates the IMSI and MSISDN, breaking their association – and enables them to be changed, so that your real identifiers can never be discovered by rogue actors.

What’s an IMSI?
The International Mobile Subscriber Identity uniquely identifies every mobile subscription. It is stored on a SIM and contains essential information such as the country in which the subscriber is registered, and the mobile network to which they belong.
It also identifies the user via your number, so it’s essential to protect the IMSI to prevent fraud. Most subscribers have a single IMSI – but not those of Trustmobile.
What’s an MSISDN?
The Mobile Subscriber ISDN Number is, basically, your phone number. It’s the number used to reach your device and to connect you to different services. It is used for both messaging and when you sign up for an application, such as iMessage, Signal or WhatsApp.
While you might only wish to give your mobile number to a limited number of people, it’s still used by the network – so can be vulnerable to bad actors.
So, how do we protect you? We diffuse your signature, so it’s harder to trace
The IMSI is your on-network signature, so by controlling this and never exposing an IMSI that matches your MSISDN, we can separate your key identifiers – and reduce the risk of exposure. We can also change the IMSI, using our growing range of options.
This separation ensures the identity needed for enabling network connectivity is never associated with that used for inter-personal interaction and communication.
Benefit from our virtual MSISDN, controlling how you expose your contacts
We give you virtual MSISDNs, so you can have different personal identifiers, which you can share in the way that suits your business. We have a wide range of MSISDNs available, giving you the opportunity to select numbers from different countries.
By changing your MSISDN when it suits, you can control your identity with different applications and reduce the risk of exposure, protecting your identity.
Trustmobile offers Multi-IMSI control, giving you different network profiles
Trustmobile supports multiple IMSIs, allowing the IMSI to be changed – switching the network profile according to rules and policies that protect the profile on the network. Users can also switch profile on their devices, providing ultimate levels of control.
Our advanced monitoring services will automatically take action should we need to change your key identifiers, swiftly eliminating detected threats.
The Trustmobile difference
We offer a complete, managed solution that protects your devices – and your data. This is achieved through the unique separation of user identity from that of the SIM used in your devices. Our security algorithms protect you from:
- Network vulnerabilities
- Legal (or illegal) access to billing records*
- Phone hacking
*Unless where mandated by an authorised agency
Security
We protect your device, so your personal and business information is safe - even from 2FA interception
Global coverage
You can connect to any network, wherever you roam
Identity management
Control your identity and cycle or change identifiers, so attackers cannot track you
Threat detection and management
Our systems provide constant vigilance and take action, providing alerts to keep you informed while automatically blocking attacks
Dispersed signature
Separate numbers from network identifiers, and choose identities from different countries, as required
Proactive protection
We automatically detect threats, and provide recommendations to optimise security

The International Mobile Subscriber Identity is a globally unique tag used by SIMs that identifies every mobile subscription. It effectively acts as an address to identify a subscriber within the country, and mobile carrier. IMSIs are used for routing so that traffic makes its way back to the home network. It is your on-network signature.
It’s essential to protect an IMSI to prevent fraud. Most subscribers have a single IMSI that never changes (unless you lose the SIM card) – but not those of Trustmobile.
The Mobile Subscriber ISDN Number is a phone number.
A virtual phone number can be used instead of the actual MSISDN associated with a SIM, so that the number that is provided to contacts and used for messaging is unrelated to any identity retained on the SIM or visible on the mobile carrier network. This means that the identity with respect to your contacts and applications that you use can be shared, while the underlying identity is hidden from sight. Think of this as a mail forwarding address without providing your home address.
We manage this process with our virtual number management solution – and we can also offer additional virtual numbers from networks around the world, so you can change these for different situations. You can also build circles of trust – sharing one identity generally, while restricting access to others.
No, we don’t. We provide data-only services, so we can protect your data footprint and avoid creating the more obvious trail left by voice calls. You can easily use one or more of your virtual identities with applications, such as Signal or WhatsApp.
